Welcome

Not many people probably know this but Shaun and I actually met on the Yahoo Personals. However, we didn't let anyone know that for years!!

December, 2005..Shaun messaged me and I immediately thought he was out of my league and a few messages back and forth would be it. Well, we got to know each other over a week or so, talking about ourselves and going back and forth. I still laugh at Shaun, because one of his famous lines he wrote was "I have a fish tank".....

"Um, ok, well I have a cat...named Stinky" was my reply.

We still laugh about that converstaion to this day(and I still have the emails to prove it) but don't worry, our converstions are much more advanced these days!!

So, we meet and started dating...slowly....off and on...long process. However, we didn't let anyone know this was how we met. We convinced everyone that I attended college classes in Grand Forks and we had a math class together.(I never did attend classes up in Grand Forks...anyone could of asked me two or three questions and found that out, I'm a HORRIBLE liar!) anyways, it was years before we told anyone the truth on how we met

Meanwhile, Shaun had transfered to college in Sioux Falls, SD. I figured we were done~he didn't want any commitment! (so he said) The first night of him living there, he asked me to move there. ABSOLUTELY not!! I was not about to move to SD.

So, we continued driving and visiting and driving and visiting. I had no idea he was about to propose!

I had a pretty flexible job. I was usually able to leave work early on Fridays and Shaun knew this. It was December 5th, 2006. He called and called, asking when I was coming up to Grand Forks because we had Fighting Sioux hockey tickets for the game that night. By the time I got up there, it must of been 5 o'clock or so. Shaun insisted we sat upstairs(normally we hung out downstairs..never upstairs but whatever) so his mother comes home from work and looks right at him and whispers "did you ask her yet?"

I didn't even think twice about it (until afterwards, I knew what she was talking about)

And we're sitting there, visiting and Shaun and his dog get up and leave the room, only to return a minute or two later with a sign around Tajah's neck(she's our Blue Heeler) that read "Mommy, will you merry my daddy?" and Shaun got down on one knee and proposed. Of course I said yes~

His original plans were to ask me to marry him at the hockey game...THANK GOD he didn't go that route!!

So, he proposed December 5th, 2006. It's now 2013....where did the time go??

We originally had our wedding planned. The church deposit was paid, the DJ and Photographer were picked out. I had my dress, we had the rings, reception was to be held at the Ralph Engelstad Arena...we were set! The more we looked over the cost of what dinner was going to be, the more Jamaica sounded better. So we stopped the wedding planning and met with a travel agent to go to Jamaica instead!!

Then another bump in the road. 2007, Shaun graduated college and accepted a job in Great Falls, MT. So we put the wedding off and moved to MT.

That didn't work out so well for us and we really missed Fargo and home so nine months later, we moved back(again, putting off wedding plans).

So, now we find outselves still in Fargo, but I was done making plans...so that's why we had the 8 year engagement.

Recently, I posted a pic of Jamaica on his FB page, not stating we should get married, but just atleast take a vacation, and he called a travel agent again (see a repeating pattern here?) and booked it, with the wedding and boom~plans are made to get married on December 5th, 2013. On the 8th anniversary of his propsal~

We do plan on having a reception for friends and family after we come back from the sand and sun. Plans aren't definate as to when, but we'll definately keep everyone informed!

Shaun and I would like to thank all of our friends and family who have been there for us and with us! We appreciate all the love and friendship that you have given us. Thank you for visiting our Wedding and Honeymoon Registry. You have all blessed our lives and we cannot wait to share our special day with you~
